Parenting 4 Life Seminar – Raising Girls & Growing Boys

RAISING GIRLS AND GROWING BOYS

Presented by John & Naomi Cowan of Parents Inc
Wednesday 27 June 2012
Lake Wanaka Centre

Parenting4Life is delighted to welcome John & Naomi Cowan to Wanaka to present Raising Girls and Growing Boys.  The Cowans are well-known parenting experts, often appearing in the national media on behalf of Parents Inc, New Zealand’s pre-eminent parenting organisation. Whether you have boys, girls, or both, this evening will provide fascinating insights and tips into how we can better understand our children. Here’s a preview of what our speakers will address, which is targeted for parents, caregivers, and educators of children aged 0-18:

Raising Girls – Today, girls need to develop a strong sense of self with healthy, personal boundaries so they can cope in our modern permissive society. Girls’ creativity and natural strengths can easily be lost in the pressure to grow up too fast in a media-saturated culture. This event will help parents develop strong connections with their daughters, so they can take their place in the world with dignity and confidence. Parents have an important role to help guide their daughters through to adulthood.

Growing Boys – It’s easier to build boys than fix men and that’s the challenge for parents as they influence the men of tomorrow. Boys can be bold, bright, challenging and fun. We’ll share the latest research on boys, with great ideas and insights to help boys thrive so they can grow into secure, passionate and loving men. Parents will learn to capitalise and build on their sons’ natural strengths.

Join us for this exciting event where you can learn something new, connect with other parents, and enjoy an evening out.  Dessert and coffee/tea is included in your ticket price.  A supervised babies room will be available for young babies, with space for feeding and cots for sleeping.
