Every family helps one weekend a year

Following the committee meeting held on 12th August….the committee would like to advise AB’s families that the care of our animals is vitally important to the success of the teaching programme offered at Aspiring Beginnings. To support this, the committee has established a weekend roster for the care of our pre school animals and grounds maintenance.

Every AB’s family has been allocated a weekend throughout the year on the foyer calendar. Please look to see which weekend you have been scheduled. If this doesn’t work, you have the option of swapping with another family. Every family is only required to do this once during the year if everyone helps.

The cupboard near the door on the verandah has the pet supplies and instructions. Most importantly the guinea pigs, rabbit and chickens all need fresh food and water once a day, for each day closed, to survive!

The committee also would like each family to help with basic ground maintenance. The list of duties is displayed on the foyer calendar. Families will be required to at least:
  • Sweep around the sand pit,
  • Remove sand from the grass,
  • Sweep the paths of debris,
  • Rake mulch under swings,
  • plus whatever other duties are on the foyer calendar.
As we move into spring/summer this may include weeding and mowing lawns, as we are still trying to establish a regular ground maintenance helper. You will receive a reminder phone call from a committee member when your weekend is approaching who will also advise lock combinations for hutches. The following Monday families need to sign the calendar to confirm their attendance during the weekend.
We are a family focused centre and encourage you all to be involved. Thank you in advance for your support.
