Our Team

Quality outcomes for children can only be achieved with qualified teachers. Every teacher is either fully registered or provisionally registered by the NZ Teachers Council and has either a “Degree” or “Diploma”, or both, in Early Childhood Education. We have a commitment to ongoing professional development for the entire team. All staff are also police vetted and have current first aid certificates.

We are licensed and chartered by the Ministry of Education and reviewed in accordance with the Education Act 1998. Information about our latest ERO report is available from the Education Review Office website.

Currently we are also members of Te Tari Puna Ora o Aotearora (New Zealand Childcare Association).

Committee...

Jen and Pauline are responsible for the day to day operations. The committee, who represent the community, have overall responsibility (governance) of our centre. The committee members are parents whose nominations have been accepted at the AGM in April each year. The committee and centre management meet on the third Wednesday of each month and welcome anyone interested in attending. If you would like to know more about the role of governance, please come and talk to Jen.

Communication between you and our centre....

Effective communication between whanau and the centre is important. The notice board in our foyer displays information about our centre including our license and charter, current newsletter, governance and management news and community information. For further consultation we encourage you to discuss your child's education and care with the teachers. Alternatively, our senior teacher is available if you have an issue of concern and feel you cannot approach a teacher. Furthermore, please refer to our complaints procedure which is also displayed in the foyer at the centre.
