Bookings

It is anticipated that every child will attend a minimum of 2 x 4 hour bookings per week. This is dependant on what vacancies become available. Bookings are charged hourly rather than per session as we endeavour to met each family's individual requirements.

Hourly fee

The hourly rate is $6.00 per hour or part thereof.*

Families receive a discount of 10%, if 2 or more children are not receiving "20 hours ECE".

The hourly rate is discounted by 50% for notified absences*.

* Please refer to our fees policy for a full explanation of our fees.

20 hours ECE

Aspiring Beginnings supports the government initiative of 20 hours ECE (Early Childhood Education).
Children over three years are entitled to 6 hours per day to a maximum of 20 hours per week free.
Other hours of enrolment are charged the hourly fee.

Optional charge

An optional charge allows us to continue to provide features over and above the Ministry of Education regulations. The optional charge of $1.00 per hour enables us to continue with our quality teacher to child ratios of 1:6 for children over two and 1:3 for children under two.

Work and Income subsidy (WINZ)

Depending on your family circumstances you could be entitled to a subsidy towards the childcare fees
from Work and Income as part of the Working for Families package. To check if you are eligible, refer
to their website www.workandincome.govt.nz or phone 0800559009 to receive an application.

Invoices

Bookings are charged each day and invoiced on the first business day of the following week. The invoice can be emailed, collected or posted. Payment is required within 7 days and can be made by cash, cheque or internet banking. Our bank account details appear at the bottom of the invoice for convenience. We have a locked box on the side of the sign in desk for collection of payments, which are processed and will appear on your next invoice. If you require a separate receipt you will have to see the office staff. Statements are not issued separately and are inclusive of the invoice information.

Where does the money go?

Because we are a licensed early childhood centre we receive funding from the Ministry of Education. This funding is required to cover all the centre costs and commitments. This includes all the maintenance of the buildings and grounds, cleaning, utilities and ancillary equipment, wages, teaching resources, etc. As a non profit centre we need to charge fees to cover the funding shortfall. Even then this still isn't enough to cover our financial commitments. Therefore our governance committee are always working towards fundraising events that will require parent participation and support. If you have any skills you can offer our centre then please let us know. We will often offer a refund for the grounds and maintenance levy in exchange for your commitment.

"A community centre like ours can only be successful with community support."
