Enrolment

It is anticipated that every child will attend a minimum of 2 x 4 hour sessions per week to help build meaningful and trusting relationships with children and teachers that will support settling into our surroundings. A session is a 4 hour booking in the morning or the afternoon depending on what vacancies arise. If we can not offer 8 hours initially we would offer the extra time as it becomes available and can offer a daily waiting list option, if required. For any families considering enrolling their child to attend our centre we encourage you to complete the pre-enrolment application which gives us an opportunity to strive towards your desired bookings.

Once a permanent booking has been accepted, we need to complete some paperwork. This information is available for your perusal by clicking on the heading below and will be completed at the first visit:

Enrolment contract - Please read carefully. It is a contract between you and our centre and records all the information we are legally required to have for the Ministry of Education plus extra information relative to our centre. It must be accompanied with a copy of your child's birth certificate and immunisation records. The contract also requests you read in conjunction with our "supervision of sleeping children" procedure and "Illness procedure".

Me Sheet - If you want to share some information about your family, this gives us some background knowledge which we can discuss with your child to help make them feel comfortable in their new surroundings.

Routine record for Infants & Toddlers (under two years of age only) - this is discussed and completed at the first visit with a teacher. We want to make sure we know as much as possible about your child to support your child's regular home routine.

20 hours ECE (for preschoolers aged 3 and over) - attending children can receive 20 hours ECE, up to 6 hours per day to a maximum of 20 hours per week as part of the government initiative to make early childhood education more affordable for all families. We are very pleased to offer this at our centre.

Vision & Hearing Consent (for preschoolers aged 3 and over) - This is a national programme offered by Public Health South for distance vision, Audiometry (hearing) and Tympanometry (Glue Ear).

Health

If your child requires medication while attending our centre, the medication will have to be given to a teacher and the information recorded. The staff are only authorised to administer medication with signed authorisation.

So we can protect the good health of all attending children and adults, any person sick will be sent home.
If they have been vomiting or had diarrhoea then they must remain absent for 24 hours.
For further information please refer to our Illness procedure.
